[edit] Introduction
The Clarterton Club is a formal gentlemen’s dining club based in London, England. It has no resident premises, instead choosing to use the private dining rooms of London restaurants as venues for its quarterly meetings.
[edit] Membership
Full Membership of The Clarterton Club is restricted to just 12 gentlemen, by invitation only and, by design, prohibitively expensive. These twelve comprise two Founder Members, Senior Members and Ordinary Members. Full Members become Senior Members after five years as an Ordinary Member. The identities of the Full Membership are notoriously secret.
From time to time, the Club hosts events for non-members, though also by invitation only and traditionally restricted to close friends of the Full Membership.
[edit] Officer Positions
At any one time, there are four Officers of the Club:
- Chairman
- General Secretary
- Toastmaster General
- Grape Lord
[edit] Club Dress
The club colours are burgundy and gold. Meetings of The Full Membership are traditionally attended in white tie customised to the club colours. Those Full Members that hold positions of office are required to further customise their dress.
