The brewery also serves Dave & Andy's Ice Cream, which was named the fifth best ice cream in the United States by USA Today. Prices are typical for the area; as of February 2004 a pint of beer cost $3.75.
The Church Brew Works is a brewpub located in a restored Roman Catholic church at 3525 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA. Its doors opened on August 1st, 1996 after the building, formerly St. John the Baptist Church, underwent extensive renovation, necessitated by years of lying dormant after being officially decommissioned by the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
There are currently (as of 9/3/07) three flagship brews which are locally distributed; Celestial Gold (light lager), Pipe Organ Pale Ale (English Pale Ale), and Pious Monk Dunkel (Munich-style dark lager). The in-house selection is rounded out by a rotating Stout, four seasonals or specialties, and one varying cask-conditioned ale. Also available are a Belgian Trippel (in champagne bottles and 5L minikegs) and a Belgian Quadrupel (champagne bottles only).
The Church's beers are brewed on a steam-jacketed 15bbl system built by Specific Mechanical Systems, Ltd. of Victoria, BC.
