The Boy Who Reversed Himself (1986) is a science fiction novel by William Sleator. The novel deals with an exploration into other dimensions, and provides a journey into the world beyond our own.

The book follows Laura, a high school girl determined to be a medical student. She has a crush on Pete, the football captain. Ever since Omar (her strange neighbor) moved in next door, strange things have been happening to Laura. When she finally confronts him, she realizes that he has found access to the fourth dimension, and she accepts his invitation to travel there, bringing Pete with her. However, when she and Pete are captured by inhabitants of the fourth dimension,they either die or Omar can save them.
