The Best Of Volume 1 is a collection of singles by Silverchair , although it excluded "Shade".
It was released without the bands' consent as they had recently left Murmur and Sony Music all together at the time and were shopping around for new record deals.

[edit] The Best of Volume 1 - Complete Videology (DVD)
The Best Of is both the last VHS and the first DVD made by Silverchair. It's issued by Sony without the authorization of the band, after the split of the band and the label. The complete videology chronicles Silverchair's videos over the years 1994 - 1999 from the Frogstomp, Freak Show and Neon Ballroom albums. The evolution of the band is captured here along with some powerful live performances filmed during the 1999 "Neon Ballroom Tour".
