The Beauty of Silence is an uplifting trance track that was composed and produced by Sven Maes and Johan Gielen.[1] The song was a huge hit in Japan and was the title track for a compilation of singles released by Avex.[2]
Although it has not been re-released due to changes in the originating duo, it has retained its popularity over the years. It has been included on the two-disc album Club Nation America by Johnny Vicious and Tall Paul.[3] One of the show points of this tune is the silence transitioning two passages of the tune. Trance is marked by repetitious rhythmic electronic beat and here it is played in point and counterpoint. Even as an actor grabs the crowd by flaunting the taboo of placing his back to the audience or as the artist accentuates the white space on a page to transform the paint, S&G have turned the reverberating silence into a startling climactic release of energy before going into the next draught of frenzy.
Svenson & Gielen have also made a music video of their performance at a 1000-member concert in Europe.
