(Information about plot is taken from IMDb) The Badge is a 2002 film starring Billy Bob Thornton as a small town Louisiana lawman, Sheriff Darl Hardwick, who investigates the death of a local transsexual. Sheriff Hardwick (Thornton) begins the investigation after hearing that high ranking politicians may have been involved. Although he is homophobic, his investigation causes him to be rejected by others, forcing him to seek help from the people he once despised.
