The Ashtray Hearts are a U.S. band originally from Minneapolis. The band currently comprises six members, and their music is described as apartment music, a mix of Americana, folk, and country. They are noted for their melancholy, sad sound. They first formed as a three-piece in late 2000, but through two albums have grown to six members, broadening their music palette to include a variety of eccentric instruments (such as horns and accordions).
