[edit] Origins

Main article: Andy Milonakis

Milonakis' fame began as an Internet phenomenon after he released home webcam recordings of freestyle rhyming, and humor videos, and short films. Some of these include Crispy New Freestyle and The Super Bowl is Gay.

Milonakis built a cult following, including comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who recruited him for regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live on television 2003 – 2004. It was Kimmel who created the series with Milonakis, and serves as the executive producer. Jonathan Kimmel is the head writer and co-executive producer. Tom Stern is the director, co-executive producer, and also writes for the show. The other co-executive producer is Rob Anderson, who also writes for the show. Andy loves his dog Wubbie which some people have used as a nickname to call their friends.[citation needed]

[edit] Format

The show consists of short, unrelated comedy sketches featuring Milonakis as well as a supporting cast made up of his actual neighbours and people from the Lower East Side, Manhattan neighbourhood where the show takes place. There is no plot, and the comedy in the sketches tends to skew absurdist and silly. Despite its time slot and intended adult audience, the content is rated TV PG. There are often animated segments, and often man-on-the-street segments. The last sketch of the show usually involves a celebrity guest.

Guests have included Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, The Ying Yang Twins, Black Eyed Peas, Biz Markie, and The All-American Rejects, John Stamos, Rob Schneider, Carson Daly, Nick Cannon, and Seth Green[1].

[edit] Series changes

The series first debuted on MTV, but was moved to MTV2 after its first season. At the start of season three, the series location was changed from New York to Los Angeles.[1] There have been rumours spreading that neither MTV nor MTV2 are thinking of renewing the show for a 4th Season. There is a possible chance though that Andy could take the series to Comedy Central or another station to buy the series.
