Talk:The World Cafe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This entry is not a blatant advertisement. The World Cafe is a type of conversation, an Unconference, a moderated Dialogue, with a non-commercial focus. This entry attempts to document and elaborate on the concept. It does need more work, however it does not merit the advert tag. Veeliam 23:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- The problem being that this READS like a blatant advertisement, down to the endorsements from whoever, and the rather floaty way it's written. Will try to wikipedia it once I've read up on it a bit, as I might be about to start using it for some meetings. Random name 07:21, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Article title should be renamed to "The World Café", note the acute accent on the "e" of "Café". --84.151.241.106 15:04, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Was this article simply cut and pasted from promotional material for the movement under discussion? It reads like a brochure! Blatant advertising. Why people think this sort of thing serves their purposes is beyond me. The subject deserves the respect of at least a pretense of neutrality. If it doesn't "merit the advert tag" I'm not sure what does -- just because it's non-commercial? Please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.229.58.224 (talk) 08:38, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think the issue is more the writer's lack of experience with Wikipedia conventions and style than an intention to promote the World Café per se. Because the World Café is currently being used as a conversational method in a variety of contexts all over the world, it is simply helpful to have some information about it available through Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AmySue (talk • contribs) 18:57, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
