it may be doubted if the first book format of the stories is the Estonian translation (although it's said on the book cover). Bykav webpage gives year 1997, and there is a picture of the cover of Belarus edition. It needs clarification, if it was only written in 1997, or published. Poor Folk (Bednyye Lyudi) is written in 1998; the collection was not published in 1997--Constanz - Talk 08:56, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
