[edit] "Foxcaflowne?"

A Google search for this term reveals nothing except the article text. Despite the fact that the FOX dub was horrendous, the term "Foxcaflowne" seems like "original research" to me. Gregly 18:31, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, mostly I just see it refered to the Foxkids version. I listed as a dubious assertion. If no one objects I'll remove that line in a week or so.68.70.149.142 15:51, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
I say get rid of it, there is nothing of the sort to be found anywheer except in the article. Tani unit 00:12, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Seconded. A search for "Foxaflowne" may turn up some hits (I distinctly remember some members of fora in which I participated using that term), but that was a long time ago. Virogtheconq 01:16, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Well this all seems to be fairly moot now, since all references to the FOX airing seem to have been *expunged*. Can someone rationalize this change? Escaflowne may not have been particularly well dubbed in its FOX outing but it was certainly noteworthy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.204.11.107 (talk) 10:58, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Sources are needed. I'll see if I can find the necessary sources for including it. Collectonian (talk) 14:57, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rewrite Needed

Someone please tag this article for a complete rewrite. It needs one pretty badly. There are far too many problems with it for me to take the time to list it, and I think anyone can plainly see the problems in question (grammar, tone, relevance... it goes on). I don't know how to tag the article myself, or I would. -- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.147.82.255 (talk • contribs) 06:21, 27 May 2007

[edit] Manga

There should be more about the Manga, and also, do we have a citation that the Manga came after the show? If the Manga is based on the show, why does Hitomi, the very main character, look completely different? I'm not talking about little changes, I think she has braids, black long hair and glasses. I thought it logical to assume that they discarded that crappy design when they made the show, not to think that the makers of the show handed off the task of making a manga and said "do whatever, I don't care."66.41.66.213 04:22, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

they changed her image! one of the best anime series if your bored this is what to watch 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.233.2.145 (talk) 07:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Soundtracks

Since the 4 soundtrack pages are going to be merged into one, I was thinking that information for the fifth Escaflowne soundtrack should be added as well. Of course, I'm referring to Escaflowne: The Movie soundtrack.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.136.124.170 (talk • contribs) 21:30, 16 January 2008

No, because it has nothing to do with the anime series itself. The movie soundtrack is covered on the movie page Escaflowne (film) :) Collectonian (talk) 03:32, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Then how about a link to it as reference, since it is loosely related.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.136.124.170 (talk • contribs) 21:34, 16 January 2008

There is a link to the movie in several places in the article :) Collectonian (talk) 03:50, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I've looked the 'the vision of escaflowne' page for looking sound track titles, and the link to soundtracks are gone. (yes, where can I find about those?) It would be better if (yes, if you want to keep merge every soundtracks into the one) you list every soundtrack pages on the 'the vision of escaflowne' page. (99.232.245.214 (talk) 21:11, 15 February 2008 (UTC))

There are no soundtrack pages anymore as they were merged into this article, so nothing to list. All of the titles are listed in the soundtrack section. Collectonian (talk) 22:45, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
I think he might be referring to the individual track titles (correct me if I'm wrong), which were all deleted when the merge occurred. I'd prefer to see those come back, likewise the credits for those other than Kanno, Mizuguchi and Sakamoto that contributed. Would be a lot of information, but then that was the reason that there were seperate pages for them in the first place. :P Quiddity99 (talk) 00:44, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Quiddity99
Its been agreed in various places that a list of tracks on a CD do not belong in articles that are not specifically about the CD (and even then, there is some disagreement). It was felt that a listing is just indiscriminate and trivial information that is unnecessary and akin to listing the chapters on a DVD release that's mentioned in the article (which we also don't do). The separate articles were not notable per WP:MUSIC, so merging them was better than having them deleted. They really contained nothing but unsourced basic info and track listings. Instead, the prose gives the relevant details and attempts to note the general content. In the reception section, sourced discussions of the soundtrack will be added, as available, which will also mention specific titles as they are mentioned in reviews.
I believe all of the sourceable and relevant credits were included with the merge, but if you feel I missed some, please let me know and I'll look for a source for incorporating it into the text.Collectonian (talk) 00:55, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Setting

Having a section on the setting is perfectly acceptable, and until/unless you actually add it to the plot section you should not remove the entire section without discussing it first. Also, as this article is about a fictional world, having a section (which was rather short, not "extensive" as you described it) explaining a little about each of the major kingdoms is very useful to someone coming to learn a little more about the series. In fact, it adds quite a bit as they will better understand things if they have that knowledge and view the series. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 06:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

The kingdoms themselves are of little importance and would be better covered by putting in an actual list of the primary characters that includes a summary of the settings. I removed it because it doesn't really belong there the way it is now. If you want to put it back, though, go ahead. I'm sick of arguing with people today.
