I have never heard of this band personally, but would be curious to know why they're called The Soviettes and if they are in any way related to the Soviets which they supposedly impersonate. "The Soviettes aren’t communists of any flavor. They’re more like partiers. The name came when the band was looking for a name and Annie was serving coffee. They did not open every show. I saw them in their home town, Minneapolis, and they were second after Smoke or Fire. The Secretary of Funk 01:50, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes there is one:

I doubt the Salteens mentioned in the Fat Wreck bio are the same Salteens that Xsxex linked to. It seems unlikely to me that Sturgeon (with strong roots in Minneapolis) would have played with a group from Vancouver, Canada. Needs verification before it should be included in the article.
