[edit] John Axon aka Nigel Harper

Has John Axon (played Nigel Harper) left The Royal?

John Axon aka Mr. Nigel Harper is last seen in the episode 04.12 While The Cat's Away, after running a much uneeded economy drive, he is later injured by an exploding boiler after his attempts to mend something which isn't broken. However, he is referred to in the opening scenees of 05.01 Loved and Lost where we discover Mr. Harper is now recovering and enjoying the sea air in Corwall.

[edit] THE ROYAL and Continuity

Watching the programme broadcast on 29 April this evening which we recorded, we noticed an ironing board in the sequence when the doctor is trying to reason with the man armed with a shotgun, after aniother man has been shot and killed. the ironing board is propped against the wall in the background and looks surprisingly modern, not like something from the 60's. Were there really tubular steel framed ironing boards in the 60's? We are intrigued! the series is brilliant and most of all, the meticulous preservation of cars and artefcats from the 60's is fascinating. I would be surprised if this was a mistake on your part!
