[edit] Distribution of material
Still hunting for an appropriate source. I do have the links to the actual sharing sites, but I'm not sure of legality or otherwise of other content on those sites, so not sure if we should direct people there, or really promote such sites by including website names. I will find some other references and amend asap. JKW111 (talk) 11:56, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Generally those are not accepted, probably on the grounds that it links to WP:COPYVIO material. I'm not certain if an archive of a P2P site page would be otherwise acceptable, but I can think of a few primary source problems it would present (hoaxes for one). Does the Goldmine magazine article mention any of this? / edg ☺ ☭ 12:04, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

- There doesn't seem to be anything good, and I suspect anything recent might be using wikipedia as a source. So there is a problem as it currently reads as it appears to be the primary source. There are lots of refs around that songs bearing those file names were available, but nothing to establish that they are "the" songs from the Library tapes. At the very least, it should change to be "songs ostensibly from the tapes" unless someone can come up with some other evidence. Comments? Alternatives? JKW111 (talk) 11:13, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

- "Ostensibly" is acceptable for now until someone challenges it. That should take about 8 hours, 12 tops. Similar information is deleted from TV episode articles (among others) about leaked episodes. I think this has also come up with bootleg music before, but I can't remember a good example. It is normal for such information to be removed because of lack of WP:RS. / edg ☺ ☭ 14:16, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
