  • There is no such thing as a UK Indie Singles Chart. We don't do it like the States' three-thousands different genred-charts - all we have is one all-encompassing UK Singles chart (like the Hot 100). Could someone more experienced than me remove this from the singles discography? ta. (BakerStreetSaxSolo (talk) 12:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC))

In A White Stripes book there stnds on the last side of german version that jacl`s new band is called " THE PROVOCATEURS"?!?!?!? Why , What do They mEan???

Raconteurs played the MTV VMA's last night and were the only good thing about the show. Unfortunately, you could only get snippets as they kept cutting back to Jack Black and the rest of the very boring presentation.

[edit] Headline text

it REALLY DOESN'T sound like nirvana's nevermind-era. isn't innovative like the white stripes, it's just old boring plain indie music, the only new thing is that Jack White is getting bald. is he going to quit WS?

Wiki is not really a place for opinions and stupid comments. Although you did have a valid first point concerning it sounded like Nevermind (a citation is needed in the main article) that is purley an opinion. The rest of your ramblings is not even worth commenting on. --Befuddled Steve 10:48, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Well a citation for this can be found - but whether its appropraite or not im not sure. I think the quote refers to quality and potential impact, rahter than sound, by the way. Robdurbar 11:14, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Touring

Maybe I'm not getting this but are the scheduled dates really necessary? I can understand having the first ever dates they played (even the first couple dates per country), but not scheduled dates. Surely you would go to their site for the latest and up-to-date news/dates? --Befuddled Steve 16:41, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation

How do you pronounce this band's name? sharpdust 20:55, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Rack-on-tours. It's a standard English word, which came from French. Notinasnaid 17:48, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! sharpdust 17:58, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
In the UK at least, it's Rack-on-ters, which is roughly the French pronunciation. Mumfie x 17:04, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Peak position US Modern Rock. I've seen numerous articles saying Steady as She Goes peaked at #2. I changed it to #2 and someone changed it back to #1. Could someone provide a source for this? Here's what I see: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/chart_display.jsp?g=Singles&f=Hot+Modern+Rock+Tracks Tytrain 22:56, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Sound like the Who to me even nicked a load of who riffs

Rack-on-tours. It's supposed to mean storyteller. That's what i read in a dictionary.

[edit] Live Performances

Does anyone have a good reason why every festival they've played should be listed? piper108 03:47, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Not really. I'm the one who added that section, but I'll admit that the list got to be quite a bit longer than I anticipated. I certainly wouldn't object to someone condensing or summarizing it. Charolastra charolo 06:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

I discovered this band recently by flipping the channels late night and hitting Austin City Limits on PBS. It seems that's a notable appearance, but I don't have the exact date. The performance was awesome; I'm an immediate fan!

I saw them in concert in september.. it was amazing, they are an incredible live band. It was the best concert I've been to in a loong time.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Broken Boy Soldiers.jpg

Image:Broken Boy Soldiers.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:30, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

I personally think the raconteurs include many more aspects of psychedelia than blues, but psychedelic rock isn't listed. Why is this? Notably in the songs Broken Boy Soldier, Store Bought Bones and even Level... I think the psychedelia is incorporated both lyrically, and musically (the effects used, the keyboard and riffs all borrow a lot off psychedelia)

[edit] New album

Check the band's site, a new album will be out on March 25! --cholmes75 (chit chat) 16:47, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
