This is an interesting film, not just another "Zapata Western." It occurs near the end of the Revolution (May, 1917), when America has pulled-out of Mexico, and is preparing for another war. The revolutionaries (Jack Palance) mention how the Revolution " is like a great love affair, with a flowering virgin. Now, she is just a whore." The strange turn at the end makes the Professionals wonder if they really worship the Almighty Buck--or, a proper job well-done. The cynicism and wry humor make for an entertaining film (although no Lewis guns would be in Mexico or the U.S. They were all sold to England for the war, in .303 caliber.)-Dan Smith70.171.235.149 02:22, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
