I toured .au extensively in 2000 and heard 500 Miles almost daily - one night I heard it in 3 different pubs, twice played and once covered by a band. When I returned in 2004 for a friend's wedding I played it at the reception where it got the best, er, reception. The song's popularity is astounding. --kylet 05:28, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

I think we need some citation for the comments about the SNP and the supposed political messages in songs. Look at the lyrics to the song "Cap in Hand" and you`ll see the obvious message that they believe in an independent Scottish Republic.
