Talk:The Police Reunion Tour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The page mentions "Bestbuy.com also lists these cities on the itinerary", but a thorough search of Bestbuy.com turned up no such itinerary. This claim requires a link for support. Austinlwyman4 22:16, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

- The first tour date is actually Sunday May 27th 2007 Vancouver B.C. at GM Place and is a Fan Club only show.

[edit] The Shows
this section doesn't seem to be anything... Hoorayt 11:11, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- I edited the set list from the two Vancouver shows. And made it more organized. I can edit it more, but what should I add? Like Stage design? Malcolmedge 5:40PM PST 31 May 2007

- Stage design, changes from the studio version, etc. I've read articles from the CBC and Globe and they do a good job in describing the stripped down nature of the show. --Madchester 02:31, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

- I have sent a request to a user to use a photo taken during Roxanne to be used as an example for stage design. And I will read into other articles and write something up. -- Malcolmedge 7:43 PM PST May 31 2007

[edit] Unplugged
On the heels of their opening show in Vancouver, The Police have agreed to perform an MTV “Unplugged” set this summer.
Sources tell me that the date for the show is July 13 and it will take place at a still-to-be-named location in Miami.
“It’s an all-acoustic set,” says a source. It’s also the first time The Police as a group have appeared on “Unplugged,” since the group disbanded in 1983 and the MTV show didn’t start until 1989. Sting appeared on “Unplugged” in 1991 as a solo act.
The "Unplugged" show will come at a great moment in The Police tour.

[edit] Stage setup
This entry seems (A) unnecessary and (B) inaccurate. The Chicago show was not set up as described.--Stacecom 15:40, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Musical changes
It seems to me that this statement is, at best, but one (minor) opinion: "With some songs most notably 'Don't Stand So Close to Me' is slowed down to accent the powerful lyrics of the song." 1) The song has been slowed down a bit, but MORE SIGNIFICATNLY, 2) the song has been LOWERED in pitch by at least two whole steps, and maybe even three whole steps. (And when I saw them in St. Louis, they modulated up about one whole step for the final chorus (meaning they changed keys in mid-song), which was still considerably lower than the original). Whether or not the song was slowed down "to accent the powerful lyrics" is entirely a matter of idle speculation (IMHO). The song was transposed down significantly, and many would argue this was to accommodate Sting's current preferred vocal range.
[edit] South America Tour
Cannot find any references, nor confirmation on their website. Where does this info originate?
Please do not put again that the show is unconfirmed because it's for sure that they are playing in buenos aires, santiago du chile e río de janeiro!
-
- I think It's the fourth time that I see "Lima, Peru" in the South America leg. Please do not put again any uncorfirmed date or, like this case, wrong info in the reunion tour because many people can believe that its's true, and it isn't. Sorry for the peruvians but The Police is not going to play in Lima..or any city of Peru!!!--Chilevivito 20:39, 01 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ThePoliceReunionTourPoster.jpg
Image:ThePoliceReunionTourPoster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

It should now be noted that Best Buy is no longer sponsoring the tour. It is now Citi. NickScalan (talk) 20:02, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
