While I personally am against an "importance" policy, I nonetheless believe that this article is of sufficient importance to qualify under such a label. The band is of interst at least to a certain subculture, fitting the criterion of well known "at least in a certain community" given on the importance essay.
The band's music is also sometimes played on Pandora (music service), which will likely bring a number of people in search of this article.
