[edit] Criticism?

This article isn't quite an advert, but it teeters on the edge at times (eg "The New Rules" heading) because of the lack of critical comment. For example, today's Guardian "Weekend" magazine has a story featuring the development, and pointing out that a large number of public rights of way have been removed, replaced with more restrictive "public realm agreements". In other words, privatisation of public space. This isn't the first place where this has happened by any means, but it's not something that should be ignored.

Similarly, there's no acknowledgement in this article of the upset caused by things like the closing-down of Quiggins, or the way in which what is part of a large city centre is skewing itself towards affluent consumers and deliberately squeezing others out, a change from the "everyperson" image that Liverpool likes to project.
