Talk:The Oxford Gargoyles

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On balance, I suggest keep and expand. This is not an ephemeral band, and Google produces over a thousand hits. If this group is non-notable, then a large number of other groups, actors and singers which currently have articles on the English Wikipedia are less notable. If there is to be a large cull of musicians and other performers of minority interest, then I do not quite see the point of it. All musicians are of minority interest.

Sooner or later, we may need to review the criteria for notability, especially with regard to performers. Like IMdB, Wikipedia has vastly greater potential to cover them than traditional encyclopaedias.

"Please respect the view of the Community" - a comical comment, BlueValour. As only I stated an opinion, which disagreed with the deletion of the article, you seem to mean "Please respect the view of BlueValour" Xn4 01:43, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

I have reinstated the article on the basis that comparable groups such as Out of the Blue have a page, so why not the Gargoyles? According to ICCA they are the best in Europe right now, and if that doesn't make them notable I don't know what does. Muntze 12:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
