Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is part of The National Estuarine Research Reserve System, a national effort to preserve wetlands, estuaries, etc. of the United States. The national program has a comprehensive objective involving the shorelines of all coastal mainland states. A merge would help expand the scope of the main article on the national program rather than just repeat what is already in Florida articles of the area.
