[edit] A little too stringent!

Okay, don't get me wrong, I'm glad that The N is being watched more closely because people liked to add some bogus information. However, I think the mods are being a little too strict when it comes to citing things. For example, what sources are we supposed to cite concerning The N's penchant for editing their programs? That is something you observe by watching their network; its not something that can be attributed to an article. That's just my two cents! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.137.100.234 (talk) 22:41, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of past and present shows

Please do not delete the list of shows from this article. The information on which shows have aired on The-N in the past and at the present time is exactly the kind of information that should be on here and makes the article more than just a small blurb about a niche cable channel.

At the very least, will whoever keeps removing these lists please explain yourself? Is there some reason why you object to this list? Is there some kind of compromise that can be reached to make us all happy? Without any comments from you, this is all frustrating and inexplicable. --Patrick T. Wynne 08:05, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Dish Network will carry The N

Dish Network will carry The N when the split happens. They currently carry Nick GaS and The N will simply replace Nick GaS on 12/31/07. [1] This piece of the article proves my point

The N, which has targeted 14-to-17-year-olds with such original teen-targeted dramas as Degrassi: The Next Generation and Beyond the Break, will replace the 58 million-subscriber GAS games-and-sports oriented network on the cable dial, according to Denise Dahldorf, executive vice president for MTVN content distribution and marketing.

So for providers currently carrying Nick GaS will have The N. The major concern was for DirecTV which doesn't carry Nick GaS but will carry The N when it launches 24/7 ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 03:54, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I have added that in the article. GD1223 —Preceding comment was added at 12:15, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... as some of you may know by now, for whatever reason Dish Network is still airing Nick GAS (the only service provider that is still currently carrying the channel). While the program schedule for channel 169 (Noggin, formerly Noggin/The N) changed to suggest that they were going through with the split, at roughly 6 pm EST today, the N began its usual feed on Noggin. However, channel 177 (Nick GAS, which was supposed to be replaced by the N) is still airing Nick GAS programming and the schedule reflects that. An update on this issue provides some very interesting information. EPX2 (talk) 01:06, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
according to the channelology (their Channel Finder) on the n's website, the N's home on Dish Network is still at 169 and not 177, i don't know why it's 169. maybe Noggin is moving to 177 instead.--Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 02:50, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Alright, toady (2/1/08) SOMEONE on The Nick GAS page said the switch was supposed to happen yesterday, but, of course, its still on can anybody find the day? GD1223 (talk) 21:31, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Nick Gas last broadcast will be on January 31, 2009 for Dish Network but they were fully aware. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.245.12.202 (talk) 12:44, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Show listing

First off, the list of shows aired by The N is on a separate page, secondly, the list that was here was not provided with source information. Just because you "heard" something does not make it encyclopedic. Please leave the list off of here, and only place it on the other page once a verifiable source can be cited for the information. --Mhking (talk) 16:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:The N current.png

Image:The N current.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Criticism

There has been much criticism of the network, as indicated on the channel's message boards. I've decided to added a "Criticism" section to the article (which is probably going to be deleted). If you think more information needs to go into that section, feel free to edit it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.68.79.44 (talk) 00:12, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
