What is the policy about quoting copyrighted material? It would not be difficult to do an excellent article on the song, but the most appropriate way-- going line by line, adding the correct annotations (people being mentioned, circumstances, accuracy of statement)-- would require including all the lyrics. I'm unwilling to do that if it's going to be immediately yanked.

Alternate method is to go line by line, including the commentary but not lyrics (or just the first word or two). That seems a little like deconstructing Beowulf, however.

I'll check back for a response in a couple of days. If I get clear direction, I can proceed.

[edit] Merge Creeque Alley

There isn't currently enough information in the "Creeque Alley" article to sustain a full article. However, that information would help to enhance this article, which is currently in stub status. --GentlemanGhost 11:54, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

    • Do not merge Thanks for starting this discussion. I agree that so far there isn't enough information here, but the song is important enough to merit its own article. The lyrics refer to a number of real-life events and an article could give background. Although this has not happened yet, I still think it makes sense to keep this as a stand alone. • Merge Wikipedia should not be here to support trivial articles that are likely never to attain a significant depth. Lettucegivethanks 21:55, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose merge. There is enough content out there to give the article depth, as evidenced by an entire web site devoted to the song - http://www.creequealley.com - and the article can easily be expanded in a form similar to American Pie or We Didn't Start the Fire (though I do admit the latter may have a bit of an OR issue) showing the relation between the lyrics and the actual history of the group.
