that's nonsense. you cannot come up with the "first reliable reference" for a 16th century character in 2004. Rather, I imagine, the book is the "first readily available collection of reliable references".
The article says only what the book claims to be, and that is "the first reliable source on Musashi's life"; however, I agree that the article should be reworded to reflect that this is the book's claim and not in accordance with any fact. --Bentonia School 13:55, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
