Talk:The Inoculated Mind

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

User:Danieltiger45 has questioned the notability of this page, commenting on my own page that creating this page violates wikipedia guidelines. After having read the wikipedia pages on Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest and Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion I do not see how I am violating the guidelines if I am editing neutrally. I thought to create a wikipedia article about my radio show after seeing similar pages about other shows on wikipedia. My model is This Week in Science, which, if you'll notice in the page's history, was also created by the show's creators, and most of the edits were made by them. I have data about my own show's listenership which I will add, but I'll leave descriptions of the content up to listeners that wish to describe it in their own way. Although I am experienced with the wiki format, I am not very experienced with the particular guidelines of Wikipedia, so some advice from more experienced editors would be appreciated. For the moment, I will assert the notability of this show by adding to the article the number of downloads since it became available online in podcast form.--InoculatedMind 00:40, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

The downloads give it enough of an assertion of notability to avoid speedy deletion, but it may still be deletable in other ways unless notability is demonstrated. A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Mr.Z-mantalkยข 02:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
I see. That should be pretty simple, there have been a couple newspaper articles mentioning the show. I'll dig them up this week. Thanks for the tip. --InoculatedMind 06:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
