Talk:The Influents

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first working name of the band was 'dirty floors' during that time the influents had a different drummer 'Eric Kinder' from metal bands such as 'Balance of the world' He had communication problems and hit the drums too hard and played too many drum fills. This led to Jason telling Bill that it Eric had to go. They band had recorded their first demo with Willie Samuels and Jason liked to take smoke breaks with him and talk about music. The members asked him to join as drummer and Willie reluctantly said, ok.

Bill left the band because Jason gave him increasingly give him the silent treatment when he would miss bass notes on stage. The final straw was in Chicago, Il at the Fireside bowl show. They canceled their Canadian shows and drove strait home in the Brand new van the Bill bought for the band. Billie Joe played two shows, one at the Minnow in Alemeda, CA and one at the Vets hall in Pleasanton, CA where Lookout record's Larry Livermore played with them in his band the Lookouts. That night later stemed into the Interview of Billie by Larry in Amp magazine in 2002.

Green day jumped on the Influents equiptment at a show at Gilman St. Berkeley and played a set of old favorites.

Another reason for the break-up unfortunately was that Jason's alcoholism hit rock bottom around the time of the influents last shows.

Johnnie was not officially a studio musician but very good at base and guitar, we joked that he was the best guitarist in the band. He worked at Univibe guitars owned by Bill.

During the recording of the second record 'Some of the Young' Greg was admited to the hospital for dehydration and rapid heart rate from the stress of the project and lack of sleep. He was able to finish the vocals just before mixing.

Hints of a reunion was fabricated from a greenday fan site in error.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.164.169.174 (talk • contribs) 06:37, 19 November 2005
