Talk:The Guns of Navarone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There's a talk scene, in which David Niven bitterly criticizes Gregory Peck. I wish Brandon would see this movie and tell me whether Niven's remarks are "anti-American". -- Uncle Ed (talk) 17:20, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Is this movie based on any real incident?

If it is based then it should be mentioned so, if not then the article should say that this is only a fictional story set in the world war. Just to ensure that people don't get the wrong impression that there really existed a guns of navarone. tx. Idleguy 04:48, July 28, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Plot summary is incomplete

It looks like someone only typed about half of it in. Can someone finish it?

[edit] Novel

This appears to be substantially about the film, although leads off correctly with mention of the Novel. Maybe the Novel should become an article of it's own. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:23, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

I agree, and started a new article for the film. You can find it at The Guns of Navarone (film). I am not sure if the synoposis for the novel is accurate, so other than removing the obvious film references, I will leave that as it is. Seaphoto 02:45, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pulp Fiction

Should it be mentioned that this movie is referenced in Pulp Ficiton?

[edit] The Skatalities song?

I got there from The Skatalites and expected this page to be about their song.

The song is taken from The Guns of Navarone (film) theme and is written by Dimitri Tiomkin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.216.9.238 (talk) 00:45, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Set up disambig

No plausible reason why "Guns of Navarone" should direct to book and not film, have therefore made this page a disambig page, linking to both book and film - PocklingtonDan 15:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
