I suggest merging this with the article on Globalization. The World Economy article is more oriented toward listing recent values of world economic indicators, while this article discusses integration of the world economy, which sounds like globalization to me.171.64.233.67 20:00, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

"Global economy" and "globalization" are loaded POV terms, and their widespread usage today is incorrect to say the least - but it's POV and an example of framing, which Wikipedia should avoid. World Economy is an improvement but the accurate and correct term is International Economy. I would suggest merging both the Global Economy and World Economy articles into International Economy. 151.200.12.82 20:13, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Globalization is a valid term, although, I agree that is has become less spesific after all the public attention. I agree that The Global Economy should be merged with the artice on Globalization.

Is 'the emission of greenhouse gases' really a legitimate disadvantage of global economy? I would prefer for the argument on this subject to be analysed not in terms of 'advantages' and 'disadvantages', but rather in the viewpoints of the 'sceptics' and the 'globallists', the two acknowledged schools of thought on the topic (acknowledged by leading globalisation scholars such as David Held and Jan Aart Scholte). [edit] Please don't merge, it would create more confusion!

I think globalization is something wider, related to civilization, than economic globalization, which is what this article is about. This article should stay as a specific page instead of being merged with globalization. This would avoid confusion. I even think this article should "borrow" to the article globalization some items that are directly linked to economic aspects, so that the article globalization shows clearly that economics is not the only aspect, maybe not even the main one, of globalization. --Pgreenfinch 09:50, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I think this article should not be merged with the one on World economy. I really see the substantial difference between their topics - people would get confused if they searched one thing and it came up with something not entirelly the same!!!
