See WP:CITE for how-to. Thanks. Mattisse(talk) 00:01, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
This article is seriously flawed. There aren't any dates or even years for significant events, i.e. the band's formation, recordings, tours, Holly's death, etc. --Terriblefish (talk) 19:40, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Beatles?

The article says, "It should be worth noting that they almost chose the name: The Beatles, which John Lennon later named his band in homage to Holly and the Crickets." This seems wrong in so many ways. It makes assumptions:

  • The group would have called itself The Beatles as opposed to The Beetles..?
  • John Lennon's band..? Presumably the other members of The Beatles also considered it to be Lennon's band? Apparently the suggestion for the name was by Larry Parnes, and was possibly a nod to The Crickets.
  • No citation: who says they "almost" chose that name?

It says, "The Beetles.````

[edit] Citation for the citation?

Is the citation needed to prove they were from Texas, or that Texas is in the United States? Either seems a little picky. --Ampwright 18:58, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
