Talk:The Council of Canadians

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This "article" is obvious not written from a neutral point of view; especially sad is that the untrains/unobservant/tired reader may not notice the subtle (and not-so-subtle) attempts to persuade the reader with rhetoric. In example, "... Barlow lays out the actions that we as global citizens must take to secure a water-just world — a “blue covenant” for all.". Part of taht sentence, "... actions that WE ... must take to secure a water-just world ..." is obviously propaganda. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.128.44.227 (talk) 02:16, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

We have received your very disturbing literature with the request for funds.

Disturbing in it's scare tactics i.e. "they're coming to take our water" aka "the sky is falling".

Disturbing in it's utter selfishness and disregard for our GOOD neighbours and our fellow man.

Disturbing in it's blatant portrayal of the United States as bad guys.

We have personally been sending money for years to areas of Africa and other third world countries for the development of wells so that persons less fortunate than us will have access to clean water.

Why would we not treat our friends across the border with the same care and respect? If they have a need for water let them negotiate with our government without the interference of a radical opposition.

If our neighbours needed water we would share even if our supply was low. God help us all and our planet if we lose the ability to look after each other.
