Talk:The Cardigans
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This looks to me like copy&paste from another site. Google didn't find anything, does anyone know where this text is from? -- JeLuF 21:32 Jan 23, 2003 (UTC)
- My guess is it's a paper for somebody's high school music class. The grammar is bad, the spelling is bad; the formatting is poor. Either that or it's an amalgamation of slight rephrasings--there's a mixture of "smart" quotes and generic quotes and the content seems to draw heavily from this page. --Koyaanis Qatsi 21:44 Jan 23, 2003 (UTC)
- It's also pretty riddled with minor errors and omitted facts that I'm not sure where to start editing. Maybe I'll get myself together and more (or less) rewrite the entire thing. What do you think? --Probell 4 July 2005 20:29 (UTC)
Did something. Rewrote quite a lot of stuff, added some bits, removed some bits. It's not really longer than it was before but (hopefully) a bit better. It's very far from perfect though and it feels pretty cluttered, I'm just hoping I could give this article a better start. --Probell 4 July 2005 22:17 (UTC)

[edit] Emmerdale v. Life
I've heard that the band re-recorded the songs that "reappear" on Life. Indeed, I just heard a version of "Rise & Shine" attributed to Emmerdale that is somewhat different from the version "that I own, from Life. Does anyone else know anything about this? Ckamaeleon 22:56, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- Some of the songs on Life are the same recording as Emmerdale, others are re-recorded.--142.106.85.75 19:14, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] One-Hit Wonder?
- NPOV Violation? Only in one country that they regularly release stuff (USA) could you phrase it that way. --IceflamePhoenix 10:55, 28 June 2006 (UTC) (forgot to sign in!)

[edit] Certified Gold?
"Super Extra Gravity went straight to the #1 spot on the Swedish album chart and has so far been certified Gold (sales over 40,000)." I thought in Sweden, albums that sold over 40,000 were considered platinum.
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:The Cardigans Super Extra Gravity.jpg
Image:The Cardigans Super Extra Gravity.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:40, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Greatest Hits
Someone posted about a greatest hits being released on the 5th of Nov with a link to this website:[1]. Seeing as nothing has been posted on cardigans.com or even cardifans.com, I'm thinking it's a possible hoax. This seems to be the only website advertising this "greatest hits" CD. Has anyone else heard about this release? Angel Of Sadness T/C 12:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Myspace
I took off the link for "The Cardigans" myspace. Its not theirs its just some loser fan with no life's myspace.
