Talk:The Bogie Man/Comments

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reasonable article but- once again- undue emphasis has been placed on (then) bankrupt retailer and (now) lecturer John McShane's contribution. If he was/is "well known in comics fandom" then that is only because of his continual self-aggrandizement.

Aside from his oft-repeated connection with this comic (McShane may have set up Fat Man Press with money from the AKA shop, but he didn't do so alone, was not the primary decision-maker in the company and was not creatively involved in their sole publication) his only other notable achievement in the community was inviting Will Eisner to visit Glasgow in the mid-90s. Beyond this, he is an extremely knowledgeable, erudite fan and amateur writer, but no more.
