The recent edits, while well-written, are in need of some attention, as they don't meet Wikipedia's requirement of NPOV. (Wikipedia:Neutral point of view#Characterizing opinions of people's work) Some work needs to be done here that will help increase the encyclopedic tone of the text while maintaining the quality of writing that is already there. Additionally, it seems some of this text is ripped straight from [1].

the recent edits were made by Jimmy Lavalle himself and I think they should be edited, not reverted entirely. It seems like he put some work into them as well - not just written offhand. --DaveyE 07:37, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

First, the work didn't meet Wikipedia's guidelines; second, it seemed to be a copyright violation, as a fair amount of the text was, indeed, ripped from the link I provided. Some instances of such:

• Officially started in 1998 when Jimmy LaValle was not contributing to his band at the time, Tristeza, San Diego's artful torrent of noise, he composed more introspective works as The Album Leaf. • A veteran of such esteemed San Diego hardcore outfits as Swing Kids, The Locust, and Gogogo Airheart, LaValle shows his calm, quiet side with these mostly instrumental songs built from soothing, shimmering layers of synthesizer, guitar, strings, and percussion that fall over each other like waterfalls tumbling into murky, rippling pools. With such evidence (there is more, but this is only a portion of the first paragraph,) it can only be concluded that it was a genuine copyright violation. Additionally, some of the language, notably "shimmering layers of synthesizer, [...] that fall over each other like waterfalls tumbling into murky, rippling pools" is out of line. Regardless of who made the changes (and if it was LaValle, there's a problem with some of wp's guidelines regarding biographical articles--but that isn't what's at hand here) they were made badly.
