[edit] Plot summary
Norman Bates is once again troubled. This time he is invited to share memories of his mother with a radio talk show host, Fran Ambrose. He recounts his dysfunctional, emotionally codependent relationship with his mother, his murder of her and her lover, and the further murders he committed as his "Mother" personality.
Norman fears that he may kill again. He just learned his wife is pregnant with his child and Norman cannot let another of his "cursed line" loose in the civilized world (The film implies that Norma was schizophrenic, and passed the disorder on to her son). The film ends with Norman burning down the Bates mansion to free himself of his past for good, but after the whole town is deserted, a scene shows the inside of the cellar where a misting ghostly shape is floating in the air; the ghost then makes an awful howling noise, then in the final shot shows the ghost approaches the camera as the hissing sound says: Come Back For Me Norman! The dramatic line was voiced by the actor who plays Normans mother, Olivia Hussey.
