Contents

[edit] Weapons

  • Fists - You will start the game empty handed and your fists are the only defensive and offensive weapons. The damage that they make is low but you can hit very quickly with them and try hitting at the face of the enemy.
  • Crucifix - Your first holy weapon. It is used to keep devilish enemies at bay and to turn water into holy water. The only enemies that can be killed with the crucifix are the shadow vampires.
  • Ancient chalice - This second holy weapon will be given to you by the reverend. Use the chalice to splash vampires and demons with holy water. Holy water is like acid to them. By turning water into holy water you can use it to refill the chalice.
  • Wooden stake - The key weapon in killing vampires and the first bosses. You need to be very close to the vampires and always aim for the chest so you can kill them.
  • Cane sword - You will find this weapon in the room where your aunt is captured. You swing kind of low and you lose stamina twice as fast than the fists but the damage is much greater. Just a few strikes with it will drop a ghoul.
  • Revolver - Don't be so happy because this little gun has more than one shot and that you can hit at longer ranges. It is not even a six-shooter and the damage is lower than the flint-lock gun. It will be given to you by your aunt.
  • Flint-lock gun - Your first shooting weapon that you will find at the ghouls. It takes an eternity to reload but at close ranges it can kill enemies with only one shot. When dealing with more enemies don't waste time to reload. Instead choose another weapon or another flint-lock gun.
  • Musket - A rifle that reloads and uses the same ammo as the flint-lock gun but it can shoot at very longer distances and it produces massive damage.
  • Machine gun - A weapon with a great payload of high-velocity ammunition. You can kill any enemy with the machine gun, and it is the basis weapon in killing the final boss. Your grandfather will give you this magnificent weapon.

[edit] Items

  • Garlic - This vegetable keeps vampiric creatures away from you for 10 minutes.
  • Potion of haste - This green liquid makes you run, attack and reload twice as fast for 6 minutes.
  • Potion of stamina - This purple potion doubles your rate of stamina loss.
  • Potion of regeneration - This blood-like potion heals your wounds and increases your health to 100.
  • Protective vest - Made from the strongest and most resistant steel, this vest makes your torso indestructible. Your uncle will give you this vest.
  • Pillbox - A little box that contains aspirin, painkillers and other pills. It restores 15% health.
  • Quinine kit - A medium size wooden box that contains viles with quinine. It restores 25% health.
  • Medical pack - A big bag of bandages, painkillers and other medicinal items. It restores 50% health.
  • Bullet box - A little box that contains 10 revolver bullets.
  • Big bullet box - A big box that contains 50 revolver bullets.
  • Bullets & gunpowder - A little bag of 5 lead bullets and a horn of gunpowder. They are for the flint-lock gun and musket.
  • Bullet belt - A belt that contains 30 machine gun rounds.

[edit] Enemies

  • Bats - The most easiest enemies in the game. They are almost harmless, that is if you don't stand in their way. In Nightmare difficulty level, they can kill you and are very difficult to kill because of their speed and relatively small size.
  • Desmodus vampire bats - A larger and stronger version of bats that appear at Midnight. Because they are bulkier and slower than their miniature counterparts, they can be easier to aim at.
  • Devil dogs - A pitch dark dog with bright yellow eyes and strong, bloody jaws. They are fast at running and biting but are not difficult to kill.
  • Daemons - Devilish little creatures that usually appear out of those round, dark gates. They are fast and their claws can do quite some damage but you can finish them with one shot from the flint-lock gun.
  • Demodiij - Half vampire, half bat, 100% monster. They are big, ugly, appear from the darkness, and can walk on walls. You must kill them quickly before they kill you first.
  • Gargoyles - The toughest of all your enemies that could easily tear you to pieces in just a few seconds. They appear only at Midnight. It is recommended that you use powerful weapons against them (e.g. musket, machine gun).
  • Ghouls - Helpless Romanian peasants that have been transformed into slaves by vampires. These guys could be dangerous because they are armed with flint-lock guns, muskets and scythes which can cause great damage. Non-human enemies have no restrictions to the harming of ghouls. If a ghoul spots another enemy, then they will attack each other.
  • Shadow vampires - They look like dark shadows or a black mist. They may be the first kind of vampires or the souls of vampires after they die. They appear from the shadow seemingly out of nowhere without warning and can move through walls. Bullets pass through them. Only sunlight, holy water or a crucifix can kill them.
  • Unseen demons - Flesh and bone demons that are partially invisible and are found at Midnight. They can be identified by the shadows they cast and the noise of their footsteps.
  • Vampires - Often found in coffins, they appear similar to humans aside from their pale skin tone, relatively long canines and sharp claws. Vampires can't stand garlic and crucifixes, and their reaction to holy water is similar to that of highly acidic substances. Sunlight burns them to ash. The wooden stake is the best weapon for killing vampires.
  • Werewolves - At Midnight the ghouls transform into werewolves. They don't use weapons, but can use their powerful claws and jaws to rend you.
  • Zombies - There are two types of these walking corpses: those that appear from under the ground are faster, noisier and fleshier; and those that are found lying on the ground are slower, quieter and sneakier. If you run past one of the latter kind, it will come to life and start attacking from behind you.

[edit] Bosses

  • Nosferatu's siblings - One brother and two sisters of Nosferatu. They are young and not very difficult to kill. Just stick a few wooden stakes into them and they will transform into bats and retreat to their coffins. Find the coffins open them and kill them quickly before they awaken, in which case you would have to fight them again.
  • The foul pit monster - You will find him in a pit that you fall into. He is big, very powerful and can take a great deal of damage. A few slaps from him and you're dead. He can hurl objects at you, making him even more of a threat. The gate that opens the pit is locked and the key is right in the pit. It isn't hard to find--the monster wears it around his neck.
  • Nosferatu - The eldest son of Malachi. He is stronger then his siblings and may seem to be invincible. There are two ways of killing Nosferatu:
    • Pull all the handles in the room. The sunbeams will unite in the middle of the room. Lure Nosferatu in there to defeat him.
    • Get on the stone bed where your sister was slain. When Nosferatu gets close to you jump into him. Once you're inside him, release holy water and he will die.
  • Count Malachi - When fighting the final boss you must shoot at him with the machine gun and always run. Do not stop moving; a few hits from him and you're dead.
