Love Bomb: The Band
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 1987, Philadelphia area Singer/Songwriter Bobby Foster started the band, Love Bomb. Created as a showcase for Foster's original songs, Love Bomb recorded one album and toured the Mid-Atlantic club scene until 1992 when the band's name was changed to Bliss.
Love Bomb's sound drew heavily on influences like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and 70's power-pop groups like Cheap Trick, and Badfinger. Foster's brooding baritone vocals were reminiscent of David Bowie, and Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche fame.
The original line up was Bobby Foster on Bass and Lead Vocals, Sean Kimball on Guitar and Backing Vocals, Matt Eltringham on Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals, Bruce English on Keyboards and Backing Vocals, and Jerry C. Williams on Drums.
Other members included Kenny Markford, Lead Guitar, (1990), Fran Sankey, Lead Guitar (1991-93), Gordon Townsend, Drums (1990), Tim Reeder, Drums (1990-91), and David Esposto, Drums (1992-93).
Their single album, "Love the Bomb," remained unreleased until 2004. It is currently available directly from Foster on his website, www.bobbyfoster.com [1]. The eight track recording was produced in 1990 at Studio 4 by Foster and Grammy award-winning producer, Phil Nicolo. Tracks include the band's signature song, "Be A Light," "Bridges," "Eye to Eye," "Raia," "You and Me," "Voices," "Here I Am," and the band's epic, "Sacrifice."
As Bliss, the band went on to record another self-produced album, titled, "Soul Windows." It can be purchased at [2].
