[edit] Summary

This oceanic temperature profile was created from data collected during the International Geophysical Year, and published in the Atlantic Ocean Atlas, part of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Atlas Series, Vol. 1. (Woods Hole: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, 1960). This graph was adapted from data presented on page 121, for Station #175; it was collected at 8 deg. 15' N, 47 deg. 36' W, on May 17, 1957. It is not in the book itself, but merely an illustration of the temperature and depth data, were it graphed.

The interval is roughly 100 meters, with the top line representing the surface; increments are in 5 deg. Celsius. Notice the levelling-off of the temperature decrease below 200 meters.
