This image is of a book cover, and the copyright for it is most likely owned either by the artist who created the cover or the publisher of the book. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of book covers
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Other use of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
[edit] Description and fair use rationale
Cover illustration by Paul Hogarth for the Penguin paperback edition of Graham Greene's novel The Quiet American.
The uploader intends that this image be used only to illustrate the Wikipedia article discussing The Quiet American, as any other use may not qualify as fair use.
Scanned by Gyrofrog (talk), in order to replace an earlier scan of the same illustration. This scan is presumably of higher resolution than the previous version; however, the uploader maintains that the new scan, at only 200dpi, is not a copyright infringement.

Same rationale for fair use applies; image should only be used to illustrate Graham Greene's novel, ''The Quiet American''.) | |
