Description

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

English: The Globe is a theatre in London, England. It is a modern rebuilding of the Elizabethan Globe Theater. The original Globe Theatre was built in 1599 by the playing company to which Shakespeare belonged, and destroyed by fire on June 29, 1613. It was rebuilt by June 1614 and closed in 1642. This modern reconstruction of the original Globe, named "Shakespeare's Globe Theatre" or the "New Globe Theatre," opened in 1997. It is approximately 205 metres from the site of the original theatre off Park Street
עברית: תיאטרון הגלוב השייקספירי, לונדון, אנגליה. המבנה כיום הוא שחזור של התיאטרון האליזבטני המקורי ששימש להצגות שייקספיריות. השחזור נעשה במיקום קרוב למיקום של התיאטרון המקורי, שנשרף בעת יריית תותח בזמן הצגת הנרי השמיני. התיאטרון המקורי נבנה ב-1598 עבור להקת התיאטרון שאליה השתייך ויליאם שייקספיר ולאחר שנשרף נבנה מחדש בשנת 1614, נסגר בשנת 1642 ונהרס לאחר מכן. בשנת 1997 הוקם שחזור זה של תיאטרון גלוב בקרבת המקום שבו עמד המבנה המקורי.
