[edit] Grinnell College
I don't disagree with you but you should not have marked that edit as "minor" -- Gnetwerker 09:12, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comment. I used to consider reverting as minor, however I just read the policy/notes on minor edits and I shall conform to them in the future. thatha 05:30, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Queer Boys and Girls on the Shinkansen
Hey - I'm one of the wikipedia film contributors, and have been especially working to organize and improve the articles focusing on Japanese film. I stumbled across your article for "Queer Boys and Girls on the Shinkansen." Where did you find a copy of this film; I've been looking online and haven't found it anywhere. Would love to know where you were able to locate this; you can contact me under my userpage on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Davidals). Thanks, David --Davidals 06:46, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Thatha- Thanks for the reply. At some point I'd love to see that, if it gets a video/dvd release, or online. In the meantime - if you speak to her please pass this information along to her. She should (if she is interested) submit it to the North Carolina Gay and Lesbian film festival. It's a regional festival; 2nd largest in the southeastern US, every August, and their programming has been international, so I'm sure that the selection committee at the festival would be interested (http://festivals.carolinatheatre.org/ncglff/title).
Also TLA video and Strand Releasing are two US DVD distributors that release a lot of gay and lesbian titles, and they might also be interested.
Thanks again for the reply, --Davidals 11:47, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Virtual classroom
I've set up the Virtual classroom (VC), which is a forum for the discussion of advanced Wikipedia skills. It differs from the help forums on Wikipedia in that major topics of discussion are scheduled and once started remain continuous.
The reason I'm contacting you is because one of the class assignments is a comparison of our user interfaces. A lot can be learned from individual users, who usually have developed their own ways of doing things. I noticed you are an advanced programmer, so you no doubt have some tricks up your sleeve. I'm hoping that you will stop by and share and compare the interfaces you use when browsing and working on Wikipedia. I've also constructed a tools page which presents everything learned from these discussions, and it is growing -- there are some pretty powerful techniques on there now. Even Interiot, Rich Farmbrough, and CBDunkerson have participated in the VC to show off their tools and methods. It's been a lot of fun, and you are invited. The interface topics are called:
and
I look forward to seeing you there and to learning your wikiways. Sincerely, The Transhumanist 23:04, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:QueerBoysandGirlsontheShinkansen-Scene00.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:QueerBoysandGirlsontheShinkansen-Scene00.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 10:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of John Gerpheide
A tag has been placed on John Gerpheide requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
