Thallie, also known as Nathalie Seenyen, was born on the island of Mauritius in the beautiful Indian Ocean just east of Southern Africa. Thallie moved to England in 2001 to study Music Performance at Salford University. She excelled in all the courses.
Even though she had been a member and a soloist for the Mary Ward Choir, one of the most famous in Mauritius, for four years prior to coming to the UK, it was in Manchester where her love of music was really awakened when she started to do an increasing number of stimulating and exciting music projects as part of her course.
As soon as she arrived she started taking private singing lessons. Then she collaborated on writing two songs – the first time she had done that. Two years ago for the first time she sang in front of hundreds of people and then less than 12 months after that she was a member of the Gorillaz gospel choir and sang with the band on their spectacular concerts in Manchester from the 1st - 5th November 2005. That was the highlight of her musical career … till that point!
Thallie was one of the first to go on the Los Angeles Music Deals Ltd. trips flying out from London in July 2006. In LA she blew everyone away with her charm and powerful vocal performance. She returned to LA in October 2006 to record her debut album. On her album she enlisted the help of many established songwriters and musicians such as D’vinci, Trina Powell, Scott Storch, Jacinda, Cutfather, David Kopatz, Gerry Stober, Maurice Simmonds, Alfred A. Dunbar, Carlos Rodriguez, Donna Pacifici and many others; the engineering wizardry of Grammy-award-winning Adam Kagan; three times Grammy award winner Mike Pela, and the production skills of TJ Rizing, freelance MTV producer and platinum award winner. The end result is a brilliant mix of Pop-style tracks, with beautiful and delicious R n’ B licks, sung in both English and the international language of love, French.
She also had an amazing photo-shoot with the internationally renowned Beverly Hills photographer, Harry Langdon, and starred in her first video of one of the tracks on the album called “Lie to Me”, a fast-moving, catchy, melodic track which Thallie wants to make her first single. The director of the video, Miguel Navarro, has, in the past won a Latin American newcomers award. While some of the editing and special effects were done by Filmworksfx who also worked on “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Fight Club”, “The Matrix” and Mel Gibson’s latest blockbuster, “Apocalypto”. She’s in good company!
Thallie is looking forward to further developing her talents in the music industry and is determined to work real hard to promote her first single 'Lie to me' to make it a big seller. She will be releasing it in Mauritius Island in September this year and in the UK in October.
Her video can be watched and her songs heard on Thallie's Myspace and YouTube.
