Image talk:TFS SCBA gear.JPG
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The caption of this picture is inaccurate. The "Canadian" firefighter is simply standing with a SCBA donned on his back but not breathing on the respirator. While the facepiece is worn correctly and the remaining turnout gear appears to be donned correctly, the responder is not what firefighters call "being on air". The second stage regulator is not attached to the MSA facepiece being worn by the firefighter. Looking at the picture closely you can see that the 2d stage regulator is missing from the chin area of the facepiece and the firefighter is breathing ambient air and not supplied air. Correct the caption to reflect the firefighter is wearing a SCBA but is not "on-air".
Please advise Viking 6 who the primary author is of the SCBA page and why Gerry Ashton is authorized to remove the refernces to the trend setting Synergist article discussing CBRN SCBA.

- I have no idea who Gerry Ashton is, and if you doubt the "Canadian"ness of the firefighter, you can clearly see that the arm patch says "Toronto", a sign that she is indeed from Toronto, Ontario. (You can see a photo of the same firefighter in a different post at Toronto Fire Services). And yes, the gear is still being equipped in the photo, but I don't think the current caption suggests differently - does it? Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 04:34, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
