Can you please change the first word from The to A. It really dosent make any sense, "The featured article".... What? "A featured article" sounds better. RkOrToN 21:12, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

It does make sense. Liken it to: "The draw for the NBA playoffs hasn't been chosen yet", "The footballer of the year hasn't been chosen yet", and so on. x42bn6 Talk Mess 16:18, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I have to agree. It makes sense. iMatthew 2008 16:23, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
How does the The make sense? Ok, listen
The featured article for this day has not yet been chosen.

Now in other words, how is The makes sense? "The", will refer to that the article has already been selected

A featured article for this day has not yet been chosen.

Makes more sense because, it tells the user that, well, 'A featured article has not been selected. RkOrToN 16:40, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm no English major, but I do believe it is incorrect grammatically. See the first definition at Wiktionary. It should be rephrased to "Today's featured article has not yet been chosen" to avoid all confusing about articles and modifers and whatnot. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 02:02, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
It says "The featured article" and then "this day". This allows it to be generic regardless of which day they are talking about, and "the" matches with "this" grammatically given that there is only one FA per day. --Philosopher Let us reason together. 20:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
