textClipping
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
textClipping is an extension used by Macintosh computers for strings of text, used since Mac OS 9 was released. When a string of text is selected and dragged to the desktop of a Macintosh computer, the computer automatically converts it into a .textClipping file. The icon formed can conveniently be dragged to any text box to replicate the exact text, sans formatting. [1] The selected text becomes plain text, and the font becomes Lucida Grande point 13, the main system font for Mac OS X.
