TextAmerica (or TA for short) is an online photo album or moblog site that allows you to take pictures from your digital camera or camera phone (or just PhotoShop jobs on other people's pictures) and post them to your site.

TextAmerica recently (January 1, 2007) went all-pay, as they had announced they would do in the past (see links below). All the moblogs and content from free users who did not choose to pay the $99 fee were removed. Oddly, the $99 fee was described only as keeping the moblog paid for available until November 2007, with no mention of what would happen at that time. In short, text america scammed all of it's longtime users into paying ridiculous user fees, knowing that the site would be shut down in less than a year. Gullible users who were tricked into paying the fee were not given any refunds once the site closed, meaning the $99.00 user fees were a last ditch effort by the site founders to cash in, well knowing the site would be shut down in less than a year.

As of December 2007 Textamerica has been closed.
