[edit] License tagging for Image:Frankwynne36.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Frankwynne36.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:05, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Himes bio.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:35, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] CM

Deleting sourced and relevant additions to articles for no reason is vandalism. Wiki is about building articles from the contributions of many people - not one editor's ideas. What CM wants or doesn't want in the article is not relevant. Wikiepedia is not PR. It is too late to go back and make herself sound like Samuel Beckett. The policy of No original research applies too. If it is good enough for the Grauniad, it is good enough for us. Please pass on to her my thanks and admiration for her openness about her sexuality - it is as healthy and normal to love men and women (in any chosen combination and proportion) as a cool breeze on a summer's day. Soane 10:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC) PS Do feel free to copyedit. The article does need smoothing out. When I get a chance, I will reincorporate your positive contributions. (Saying her work tells us little about her isn't perhaps worth pointing out.) All additions must be independently sourced, of course. Soane 10:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Damien Hirst

Have you got a reference for this quote?[1] Also, I am concerned that "criticism against" section doesn't get too big - which it could very easily... Tyrenius 15:28, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Matthewshipp.jpeg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Matthewshipp.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:52, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A random question from someone you've never met!

Hi! I found your user page simply by looking for people who speak Spanish (based on one of your user boxes), so apologies if this seems like something from out-of-nowhere. I was wondering if you could help me with something small, but Spanish-related. I'd like to ask a Spanish-speaking Flickr user if they would grant GFDL permission for the use of an image of theirs. So, I was wondering if you could help me compose a letter to that person, obviously in Spanish, that does so. Specifically, I would need a request for permission translated, and then help with any additional correspondence. Actually, to make things even simpler, that page has a Spanish equivalent (es:Wikipedia:Modelo de petición para la reproducción de imágenes, though there doesn't seem to be alot of stuff on that page, so maybe not), so perhaps you could recommend one of those pre-fabricated letters, and help me plug-in all the necessary info. If you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it! Either way, thanks alot! Drewcifer (talk) 08:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
