There were four ships in the Tennessee class armored cruisers

Normal Displacement: 14,500 tons; Length: 502.0'; Breadth: 72.9' Draft: 25'

Dimensions: 504' 6" x 72.9' x 25' / 153.80m x 22.25m x 7.62m

Displacement: 14500 tons std / 15715 tons max

Complement: 856

Armament: 4 x 10"/40 guns in twin turrets 16 x 6"/50 Mk8 guns in single casemates 22 x 3"/50 guns in single mountings 2 x 1pdr guns in single mountings 4 x 21" torpedo tubes submerged

Armour: Belt: 3" - 5" Deck: 1.5" - 4" C.T.: 9" 10" Turrets: 2.5" - 9"

Powerplant: Sixteen Babcock & Wilcox boilers were fitted with two vertical triple expansion engines providing a total of 23000ihp on two shafts. Maximum speed was 22kts and maximum fuel load was 1950 tons coal.
