"Tenderness" is a song by General Public from their album All the Rage, produced by I.R.S. Records. The song's lyrics tell about a man who really needs tenderness to feel like a man. It was one of the band's first singles. The single cover of the extended versions has a sentence reading "words like conviction can turn into a sentence".
It was featured in the 1985 movie "Weird Science", where the song was played near the end of the movie. It was featured in the 1995 movie Clueless, where the song was played at the end of the film as well as during the credits.
The single peaked at #27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
