These subtemplates stick a US or U.S. in front of the word barrel or its abbreviation. I'd initially considered this useful but discussions on Template talk:convert seem to indicate that this is superfluous. All main space transclusions of {{convert}} involving the oil barrel have been moved over to {{convert/oilbbl}}, which does the same job just without the "US"/U.S.". Jɪmp 16:21, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
